Thursday 7th October 2021
Flights are with Aer Lingus from Dublin at 07.30hrs arriving into Bilbao at 10.45hrs. We depart the airport by luxury coach and travel to Burgos and check into the hotel for our 7-night stay. Burgos, a provincial capital in Spain’s autonomous community of Castile and León, is marked by its intact medieval architecture. Its most recognizable landmark is the French Gothic Cathedral of St. Mary, whose 3 main doorways are flanked by ornamented bell towers. (D, B&B)

Los Acros to Logrono (28km)
This morning we depart the hotel and travel to Los Acros to begin our walk. Most of your walk today will be along nice tracks, among vineyards, olive trees and cereal fields. From Villamayor de Monjardín to Los Arcos, you will cover approximately 12kms without passing a single village so make sure you have plenty of water and a few snacks. We return to the hotel in time for dinner. (D, B&B)

Logrono to Najera (29km)
Continue your Camino on a very enjoyable track across rolling countryside, leaving Navarra and entering the world-famous wine making La Rioja region. You will pass the dramatic ruins of Clavijo Castle before entering the city of Logroño, capital of La Rioja and home to some of the best tapas scene on the Camino. Head for Calle Laurel to sample the local Rioja-style specialities.
Easy Option: You can split your long stage from Los Arcos to Logroño, into two stages of 18km and 10km, if you would like to walk at a more relaxed pace. Return to the hotel. (D, B&B)

Najera to Santo Domingo (22km)
You will pass the small village of Azofra, dedicated to the La Rioja patron: La Virgen de Valvanera. Azofra is also the starting point for the ‘Monasteries route’, off the Camino de Santiago route but is worth visiting if you have additional days, particularly the Yuso and Suso monasteries of San Millán de la Cogolla, considered the birthplace of Spanish language. You will finally arrive in Santo Domingo de la Calzada, a town with a beautiful Medieval centre and a history closely linked to the Camino de Santiago. Return to the hotel. (D, B&B)
Monday 11th October 2021
Santo Domingo to Belorado (23km)
Today you will start your day walking on uneven terrain through woodland and then crop fields. Part of today’s trail runs parallel to busy main roads. As you get closer to Belorado, you will start catching a glimpse of the Oca Mountains, the last mountain range before the Meseta (the central Spanish Plateau). Return to the hotel (D, B&B)
Tuesday 12th October 2021
Belorado to St Juin (25km)
Most of your journey today will be along earthen tracks and peaceful trails on your way to the little town of Villafranca Montes de Oca, the Camino weaves its way through gorgeous woodlands of fragrant oak and pines. Pass though the hamlet of San Juan de Ortega where you can visit its famous mausoleum before continuing onto Atapuerca famous for its UNESCO World Heritage prehistoric caves where fossils and stone tools of the earliest known hominins in Western Europe have been found. Continue to St Juin. Return to the hotel for dinner. (D, B&B)
Wednesday 13th October 2021
St Juin to Burgos (27km)
Today is our last day of walking. You will continue following your Camino trail to the town of Burgos passing Ages, Atapierca, Cardenuela Riopico and Orbaneja Riopico. The evening is at your own leisure to enjoy your last night in Burgos. (D, B&B)

Today we check out of the hotel and bit a farewell to Burgos. Our travel to Santiago de Compostela for our 2-night stay. If time permitting, we may have a stop off in the beautiful city of Leon. León, a city on the Bernesga River in northwest Spain, is the capital of the Province of León. It’s home to many churches and cathedrals noted for their architecture and art. Among them is the Gothic 13th-century Catedral de Léon, with its towers and flying buttresses. Santiago de Compostela is the capital of northwest Spain’s Galicia region. It’s known as the culmination of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, and the alleged burial site of the Biblical apostle St. James. His remains reputedly lie within the Catedral de Santiago de Compostela, consecrated in 1211, whose elaborately carved stone facades open onto grand plazas within the medieval walls of the old town. Friday 15th October 2021
Monte do Gozo to Santiago de Compostela Cathedral 5km
Today we will depart the hotel at 08.30hrs and travel to Monte do Gozo where we will walk to St James Cathedral. Mass will be at 12.00hrs. The afternoon is free to explore Santiago de Compostela. Return to the hotel in time for dinner. (D, B&B)
Saturday 16th October 2021
You will have some free time this morning for last minute shopping before we check out of the hotel and the coach will take us to Santiago de Compostela Airport for our flight with Aer Lingus at 20.10hrs to Dublin arriving at 21.20hrs.
