The ferry will arrive to Roscoff at 07.00hrs this morning. We depart the ferry and today will be a long drive to arrive at our destination Lourdes for 4 nights. We will travel down the west coast of France with amazing coastal views en route. There will be some rest stops where you will have time for something to eat. We would expect to arrive at the hotel from 19.00hrs that evening. On arrival in Lourdes, we continue to the hotel and check in for our 4-night stay. (D, B&B)

Monday 24th August 2020
This morning after breakfast a guide will meet you at the hotel for a tour of Lourdes. Lourdes is a town in southwestern France, in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. It’s known for the Sanctuaires Notre-Dame de Lourdes, or the Domain, a major Catholic pilgrimage site. Each year, millions visit the Grotto of Massabielle where, in 1858, the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a local woman. In the grotto, pilgrims can drink or bathe in water flowing from a spring. After the guided tour the rest of the day will be free for you to explore Lourdes. Why not take part in the stations of the cross along the banks of the Gave du Pau River and the torch-lit procession, held in the Sanctuaries each evening. (L, D, B&B)

Tuesday 25th August 2020
Today’s excursion is a full day tour into the Pyrenees mountain villages such as Luz-St-Sauveur. Gavarnie Cirque is a natural bowl carved out by ancient glaciers and has the largest waterfall in Europe. You could also take a cable car up to the top of Pic du Midi, one of the most majestic summits in the Hautes-Pryenees. A guide will be with you for the day and he or she will make some suggestions of what areas are of most interest to see. After your full day out return to the hotel for dinner. (L, D, B&B)

Wednesday 26th August 2020
Today is a full free day for you to explore Lourdes at your own pace. Why not visit the medieval fortress, once a palace, once a jail and now a Museum of Pyrenean Life. A funicular takes you to the summit of the Pic de Jer mountain for a spectacular 360 view over the town and the Sanctuaries. The day is yours to explore all that is of interest to you. Return to the hotel in time for dinner. (L, D, B&B)

Thursday 27th August 2020
Today we check out of the hotel and bid farewell to Lourdes. We continue our journey towards Roscoff with an overnight stay in the Bordeaux area. If time permitting there may be some time for a stop off in Toulouse. Toulouse, capital of France’s southern Occitanie region, is bisected by the Garonne River and sits near the Spanish border. It’s known as La Ville Rose (‘The Pink City’) due to the terra-cotta bricks used in many of its buildings. Here might be a nice area for a spot of lunch. Continue our journey to the Bordeaux area and check in for our overnight stay. (D, B&B)

Friday 28th August 2020
We check out of the hotel after breakfast and make our way to Roscoff for overnight cruise ferry with Brittany Ferries at 20.30hrs back to Cork arriving the next morning at 09.30hrs. Please note there are no meals included on the overnight ferry.

Saturday 29th August 2020
The ferry will arrive into Cork Harbour at 09.30hrs. We disembark the ferry and you will be transferred back to your original pick up point.

Please note terms and conditions apply.
