Itinerary:

Monday 24 August 2020
We will pick you up at your designated pick up point and make our way towards Galway City. We will have a stop in Athlone where you will have a little free time to stroll around and have some lunch before continuing on to Galway where we will check into the hotel with time to relax and unpack before dinner is served in the evening. (D,B&B)

Tuesday 25 August 2020
We will depart the hotel early today after breakfast and board the coach for a leisurely drive around Clare starting with a visit to the Aillwee Caves. If you prefer not to go into the caves there are plenty of other things to do. You could relax in the tearoom with a coffee and freshly baked scone or browse the gift shop, have a lunch prepared from the finest ingredients or drink a glass of wine on the terrace whilst admiring the most fabulous views of Galway Bay. You could also watch cheese being made in the dairy and then sample the delicious homemade fudge and choose a selection of jams, chutneys and pickles all lovingly prepared in the Farm kitchen. In the early afternoon we will continue on to the Cliffs of Moher where on a clear day you can see the Aran Islands and Galway Bay. We will make our way back to the hotel, travelling via Liscannor where, time permitting, there will be a stop at the Rock Shop for a brief browse or a cup of coffee before returning to the hotel for dinner. (D,B&B)

Wednesday 26 August 2020
After breakfast, we will depart the hotel and travel to Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden. Kylemore has been home to the Benedictine order for many years. The dramatic landscape and iconic image of a gothic castle reflected in a Connemara Lake has made Kylemore Abbey world-famous and it is now the largest tourist attraction in the west of Ireland. After our visit to Kylemore we will make the short journey to Leenane where we will take a wonderful 90-minute cruise on Killary Fjord. This offers a great way to take in the dramatic sweep of the landscape as you pass between the Twelve Bens and the Maam Turk mountains to the South, in County Galway and the Mweelrea Mountains to the North in County Mayo, as well as the views out to the Atlantic at the mouth of the fjord. After the cruise we will return to the hotel travelling through Maam Cross back to the hotel in time to freshen up for dinner. (D,B&B)

Thursday 27 August 2020
Today we are going to visit Inis Mór, the largest of the Aran Islands. We will board the 10.30hrs ferry from Rossaveal and make the 45-minute crossing where, on arrival, you will be taken on a minibus tour of the island. After the tour you will be returned to the main village of Kilronan which is one of the most picturesque spots in Ireland. Once its sole purpose was as a fishing port for the Aran fishermen, today it is the main port for the ferry companies. With its adjoining white sandy beach, it has a wide selection of first-class restaurants serving seafood, traditional Irish bars, buskers, and accommodation - it is a great spot to people watch and to base yourself before or after exploring the island. You will return to the mainland on the 17.00hrs ferry and from there be returned to the hotel in time to freshen up before dinner. (D,B&B)

Friday 28 August 2020
After breakfast this morning we will check out of the hotel. You will spend the day in Galway City where you will have time to relax and browse the shops, visit the Cathedral, or while away a relaxing couple of hours having lunch or coffee in one of the many street side cafes. At approximately 15.00hrs we will depart Galway and make our way back to your original pick up point.
