Monday 11 May 2020
Today, after breakfast, we will be joined by a local guide for a day touring the Fanad Peninsula. We will travel first towards Rathmullan where the famous Flight of the Earls took place from in 1607. We will take a route along the coastline of the western shore of Lough Swilly with its huge maritime history and take the scenic drive towards Knockalla, Ballymastoker Beach (once voted the second most beautiful beach in the world), Portsalon, with views of the Inishowen hills as a backdrop. We will visit Fanad Head Lighthouse, once voted one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the world. You will have a tour of the lighthouse and hear stories of lightkeepers in days gone by and if you wish, time permitting, climb to the top of the tower for the most spectacular views. We will continue with a scenic Atlantic drive from Fanad to the Rosguill Peninsula via the Harry Blaney Bridge. We will have a stop at Doe Castle which sits beautifully on a jutting rock, with the sea surrounding it on three sides. It's striking white tower is central to its legends of tragedy, romance, and ghosts. A guided tour here is optional. We will return to the hotel in time for dinner. (D,B&B)

Tuesday 12 May 2020
This morning, after breakfast, we will depart the hotel and make our way to the beautiful Glenveagh National Park. The hauntingly beautiful Glenveagh Castle was built in the 1870s by the Adair family. Surrounded by the famous Glenveagh Gardens, its construction in a remote mountain setting was inspired by the Victorian idyll of a romantic highland retreat. You will have a guided tour of the Castle after which you will have plenty of time after to enjoy a stroll in the Walled Gardens – and experience not to be missed. You will also be able to have lunch in the tea rooms before we depart and make our way back to Letterkenny where you can have the rest of the afternoon free to explore the town or just relax and enjoy some of the leisure facilities on offer in the hotel before dinner. (D, B&B)

Wednesday 13 May 2020
Today, we will once again be joined by a guide for a day exploring some of what South West Donegal has to offer. We will visit Killybegs, a natural harbour and the largest fishing port in Ireland, where you will see many fishing boats in the port from all over the world. We will also visit Glencolumbkille including a visit to the Folk Village Museum. This thatched-roof replica of a rural village offers a glimpse into daily life as it was during past centuries. Designed, built and maintained by the local people, the Folk Village is one of Ireland's best living-history museums. Our day trip will also take in the Assaranca Waterfall and Maghera Beach. On our way back to the hotel we will have a little time to visit Donegal Town. Return to the hotel for dinner. (D,B&B)

We will have another comfort stop en-route in Cavan before continuing on to Dublin where we will arrive at approximately 17.00hrs and then continue to drop you off at your original pick up points.
