Flights are with Aer Lingus from Dublin at 13.00hrs arriving into Bilbao at 16.15hrs. We depart the airport by luxury coach and travel to Pamplona and check into the hotel for our 9 night stay. Pamplona is the capital of Navarre province in northern Spain. It’s best known for the Running of the Bulls (Feast of San Fermín) in July. During this legendary multiday festival, bulls are led through the city streets by daredevil runners. A major stop along the Camino de Santiago, a medieval-era pilgrimage route, Pamplona is also home to Gothic-style churches including fortresslike San Nicolás. (D, B&B)

Friday 4th October 2019
St Jean to Los Arcos (25km)
The beginning of this route departs from the city of St Jean Pied de Port and starts by walking up the famous Roncesvalles Pass in the Pyrenees. This route is demanding, probably the hardest of the entire French Way. The so-called ‘Route Napoleón’ begins with a steep climb from where we will get to see beautiful country homes before reaching the typical upland meadows. On this route we will also have some spectacular views of the Pyrenees Mountains. Then we will walk through beautiful forests heading towards the Spanish border and we will head downhill until reaching the town of Roncesvalles. We return to the hotel in time for dinner. (D, B&B)

Saturday 5th October 2019
Roncesvales to Zubiri (22km)
We will start the day in the town of Roncesvalles. Roncesvalles is a popular starting point for many pilgrims from Spain. The trail between Roncesvalles and Zubiri crosses beautiful forests of beech and oak trees. This trail also crosses two mountain passes: Alto de Mezquíriz and Alto de Erro. After crossing the passes, we will make our way down to the town of Zubiri. Return to the hotel. (D, B&B)

Sunday 6th October 2019
Zubiri to Pamplona (21km)
Once we leave Zubiri, the trail continues along the Arga River to the city of Larrasoaña, an important city during the middle ages due to its influx of pilgrims. Little by little we will make our way towards the city of Pamplona. Pamplona is famous for its running of the bulls, specifically its San Fermín festival. Return to the hotel. (D, B&B)

Monday 7th October 2019
Pamplona to Puente De La Reina (25km)
We will start the ascent to Alto del Perdón, where we will be able to take pictures of the pilgrim sculpture at the top and enjoy the unbeatable panoramic views of the city of Pamplona and its entire valley. Then we will start our descent towards Puente de la Reina, famous for its medieval streets and its impressive bridge from the 11th century over the Arga River. Return to the hotel (D, B&B)

Tuesday 8th October 2019
Puente De La Reina to Estella (23km)
We will continue our Camino de Santiago through farmlands, small villages and towns surrounded by olive groves, grain fields and small vineyards. We will pass through Cirauqui perched on the top of a hill that will amaze us with its small medieval streets. Here we can find one of the best preserved sections of the Roman road. Later on we will reach Estella. Return to the hotel for dinner. (D, B&B)

Wednesday 9th October 2019
Estella to Los Arcos (22km)
Along the route to Los Arcos we will cross vineyards, olive trees and large grain fields. Once we pass Villamayor de Monjardín, we will head to Los Arcos and continue walking for 12 km without passing through a single town. Return to the hotel. (D, B&B)

Thursday 10th October 2019
Today is a free day for you to explore Pamplona or relax in the hotel. Why not visit Pamplona Cathedral, walk the streets of this fabulous city or some last minute shopping before returning to Ireland. Return to the hotel in time for dinner. (D, B&B)

Friday 11th October 2019
After breakfast we depart the hotel, today we will have a full day trip to San Sebastian. San Sebastián is a resort town on the Bay of Biscay in Spain’s mountainous Basque Country. It’s known for Playa de la Concha and Playa de Ondarreta, beaches framed by a picturesque bayfront promenade, and world-renowned restaurants helmed by innovative chefs. In its cobblestoned old town (Parte Vieja), upscale shops neighbor vibrant pintxo bars pairing local wines with bite-size regional specialties. Here we will have a guided city tour by coach with some free time for shopping. Return to the hotel. (D, B&B)

Saturday 12th October 2019
Today we check out of the hotel and say goodbye to Pamplona. We travel to Bilbao where you will have some free time. We suggest a visit to see Guggenheim Museum. The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a museumof modern and contemporary art designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry. The museum was inaugurated on 18 October 1997 by King Juan Carlos I of Spain. Built alongside the Nervion River, which runs through the city of Bilbao to the Cantabrian Sea, it is one of several museums belonging to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and features permanent and visiting exhibits of works by Spanish and international artists. It is one of the largest museums in Spain. We travel back to Bilbao Airport for our flight with Aer Lingus at 16.55hrs back to Dublin arriving at 18.05hrs.
