Itinerary:

Saturday 29 June 2019
We will pick you up from our designated pick up point and travel North to Belfast City where, after some free time for lunch in the City, we will board the coach for a guided tour that will take in all that the City has to offer from the bustling University to the notorious political murals of East & West Belfast which depict in their own unique way the turbulent events of the so called 'Troubles'. We also visit the Titanic Quarter, home to colossal cranes of Harland & Wolff and the final location of the recently returned SS Nomadic, tender to the ill-fated Titanic and only surviving vessel from the White Star Line. After our tour you will have some free time to enjoy some shopping or sightseeing of your own in the City Centre before we make our way to our hotel in time to freshen up for dinner in the evening. (D, B&B)

Sunday 30 June 2019
After a leisurely breakfast we will make our way to the Titanic Quarter and the Belfast Titanic Museum. The Centre is a state of the art attraction with some incredible effects so you can experience the Titanic leaving Belfast; see it being built and much more. You will have about 2-3 hours to enjoy in the Titanic Visitor Center. After your visit the afternoon will be at your leisure. You might like to take a wander around the University area, the Botanic Gardens, the Ulster Museum or you might like some retail therapy and a visit to Victoria Square - Northern Ireland’s biggest and brightest new shopping centre. The dazzling glass dome is also a viewing gallery where you can look across the Belfast rooftops. With Northern Ireland’s first House of Fraser store, here you will also find the first Northern Ireland openings for prestigious brands Hollister, Pumpkin Patch, All Saints, Firetrap and Hardy Amies. (D, B&B)

Monday 1 July 2019
Today after breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and board the coach for a trip to Crumlin Road Gaol! This is a former prison which closed in 1996 and was one of the most advanced prisons of its day. Built within a five sided wall on ten acres, the four wings are up to four stories in height and fan off from the central area known as the Circle. It was the first prison in Ireland to be built according to the “separate system”, intended to separate prisoners from each other with no communication between them. You will be able to take a tour of the prison and hear the varied history of the Gaol that dates back to 1845. There will be an opportunity to walk along the underground tunnel that links the Gaol to the courthouse where the prisoners were led to the Gaol after being sentenced. After the tour of the Gaol we will set off on our return journey taking in an excursion around Carlingford Lough and the Irish Sea Coastline. We drop you back at your original pick up point.
