|Friday 9 August
|After breakfast, we will make our way to Bowness-on-Windermere, a sprawling tourist town on the shore of Windermere, about halfway along the 12-mile length of the lake between Waterhead at the North end, and Lakeside at the South end. Now Cumbria’s most popular destination, the town is busy for much of the year. People come to enjoy the lake for sailing and water sports, or just to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the area and the town’s delightful setting. Here you can visit the World of Beatrix Potter and in the afternoon we will take a cruise to Lakeside. From there we will board a steam train which will take you to Haverthwaite where the coach will pick you up to return to the hotel in time for dinner. (D, B&B)

|This morning, we board the coach and travel via Windermere to Keswick, nestled between the North Lakeland Fells and Derwentwater, England’s widest lake. We will return via Grasmere, the home of William Wordsworth, where we will enjoy a guided tour of Dove cottage and entrance to Wordsworth Museum. We will return to the hotel for our evening meal. (D, B&B)

Then it is on to the spectacular Kirkstone Pass to the south of the lake for some of the best views in the whole park before we return to the hotel for dinner. (D, B&B)
