Itinerary: |
Thursday 8 August |
We will pick you up from our designated pick-up point and travel to Dublin for our ferry to Holyhead. We depart Holyhead and travel via the North Wales Coast to the Lake District. There will be a stop en-route to the hotel for refreshments. We check into the hotel for our 4-night stay. (D, B&B) |
Friday 9 August |
After breakfast, we will make our way to Bowness-on-Windermere, a sprawling tourist town on the shore of Windermere, about halfway along the 12-mile length of the lake between Waterhead at the North end, and Lakeside at the South end. Now Cumbria’s most popular destination, the town is busy for much of the year. People come to enjoy the lake for sailing and water sports, or just to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the area and the town’s delightful setting. Here you can visit the World of Beatrix Potter and in the afternoon we will take a cruise to Lakeside. From there we will board a steam train which will take you to Haverthwaite where the coach will pick you up to return to the hotel in time for dinner. (D, B&B) |
Saturday 10 August |
This morning, we board the coach and travel via Windermere to Keswick, nestled between the North Lakeland Fells and Derwentwater, England’s widest lake. We will return via Grasmere, the home of William Wordsworth, where we will enjoy a guided tour of Dove cottage and entrance to Wordsworth Museum. We will return to the hotel for our evening meal. (D, B&B) |
Sunday 11 August |
After breakfast, we depart the hotel and make our way to Lake Ullswater, the second largest Lake in the National Park, where the coach will drop us off at Pooley Bridge and we will enjoy a 60-minute cruise to Glenridding, where the coach will be waiting to pick us up. Then it is on to the spectacular Kirkstone Pass to the south of the lake for some of the best views in the whole park before we return to the hotel for dinner. (D, B&B) |
Monday 12 August |
After an early breakfast, we check out of the hotel with and travel to Holyhead with stops en-route for the afternoon ferry back to Dublin, arriving at 18.00hrs. From here you will be dropped back to your original pick-up locations. | Please note terms and conditions apply. |
