| Thursday 16 July 2026 |
| We will pick you up from our designated pick-up point and travel to Dublin for our ferry to Holyhead. We depart Holyhead and travel via the North Wales Coast to our hotel in Grange over Sands. You will have time to freshen up before dinner in the hotel in the evening. (D, B&B) | | |
| Friday 17 July 2026 |
| After breakfast, we will be joined by a local guide and we will make our way to Kendal, gateway town to the Lake District, a vibrant town with an abundance of excellent restaurants, a busy shopping district and creative arts centre. Historically, this was a major wool producing centre – the famous ‘Kendal Green’ one of several Kendal cottons produced in the workshops that once occupied its many yards. But for most visitors, Kendal is synonymous with its famous mint cake, a staple of many a mountaineer’s backpack and important sustenance for Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on their Everest ascent in 1953. We will continue on to Bowness-on-Windermere, a sprawling tourist town on the shore of Windermere. From here we will take a cruise to Lakeside (15.00hrs, arriving 15.40hrs in Lakeside) and onwards from there on a steam train (15.55hrs departure) which will take us to Haverthwaite (arriving 16.15hrs) where the coach will pick us up to return to the hotel in time for dinner which will be under your own arrangements this evening. | This morning, our guide will again join us for the day and we will travel via Windermere to Keswick – a pretty market town situated between the huge bulk of Skiddaw and the gentle beauty of Derwentwater. It has a wide range of attractions for visitors, from shops and restaurants to museums with a difference, including the famous Pencil Museum. There is also a good market which brings many locals and visitors to the town – it operates every Saturday and Thursday. From Keswick, we will move on to Grasmere, where we will enjoy a guided tour of Dove Cottage (at 14.00hrs approx.), the home of William Wordsworth and a visit to Wordsworth Museum. A guided tour of Dove Cottage will give you a vivid impression of what day-to-day life would have been like for Wordsworth and his family, as well as providing the opportunity to soak up the unique and creative atmosphere of their home. You will have time to wander round the garden at your leisure before we depart and return to the hotel. Dinner is under your own arrangements this evening. (B&B) | | |
| Sunday 19 July 2026 |
| After breakfast, with our local guide on board, we will depart the hotel and make our way to Lake Ullswater, the second largest Lake in the National Park, where the coach will drop us off at Pooley Bridge and we will enjoy a 60-minute cruise to Glenridding (15.15hrs booking), where the coach will be waiting to pick us up. Then it is on to the spectacular Kirkstone Pass to the south of the lake for some of the best views in the whole park before we return to the hotel for dinner. (D, B&B) |
| Monday 20 July 20265 |
| After an early breakfast, we check out of the hotel and travel to Holyhead with stops en-route, to board the afternoon ferry back to Dublin. From here you will be dropped back to your original pick-up locations. | Please note terms and conditions apply. |
