ITINERARY
THURSDAY 4TH MARCH
Our tour begins with a local pick up then we drive to Dublin for the ferry to Holyhead and across the Pennines to Hull. Here we board an overnight cruise ferry to Zeebrugge in Belgium, with dinner and breakfast on board. (Dinner, B&B)
FRIDAY 5TH MARCH
After disembarking we drive across Belgium and northern France to glittering Paris, full of charm, character and ambience. After checking in at our hotel there will be some free time to explore before dinner. (Dinner, B&B)
SATURDAY 6TH MARCH
This morning we meet a local guide who will delight in showing us the city’s major sights. We see Notre Dame Cathedral, the Champs Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe as we drive around the broad boulevards in this city full of history, art and beautiful architecture. Later, we drive to the Eiffel Tower where we board a Seine cruise boat for a leisurely cruise, with English commentary, along this most famous river. The cruise will pass by the Louvre and many other well-known sights and this is a great opportunity to get a closer look at the lovely bridges for which Paris is renowned. The remainder of the day is at leisure – perhaps ascend the Eiffel Tower or take a walk from the hotel up to the nearby artists’ quarter of Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur Basilica for fine views of the city. This evening you are free to enjoy a Saturday night out ‘Parisian-style’. There are so many restaurants to choose from – perhaps try a cosy bistro, a typical brasserie or any number of international cuisines – the choice is yours. (B&B)
SUNDAY 7TH MARCH
After breakfast we board our coach and drive to Versailles. This charming town has a colourful market and there will be time to look around before we visit the splendid Chateau of Versailles. Built by the ‘Sun King’, Louis XIV, the Chateau contains a magnificent collection of furniture and art works and a qualified guide will explain its history and its many treasures. We return to Paris this afternoon for time to relax before dinner at the hotel. (Dinner, B&B)
MONDAY 8TH MARCH
It’s ‘au revoir Paris’ as we leave the hotel after breakfast and make our way back to Zeebrugge for the overnight cruise ferry to Hull. (If time permits we will make a stop in the pretty Belgian city of Bruges en route). Dinner and breakfast on board ship are included. (Dinner, B&B)
TUESDAY 9TH MARCH
After disembarkation we return to Holyhead for the ferry to Dublin, then we will return you to your original pick up point. |
