SATURDAY 29TH MAY
After a full Irish breakfast we set off for a drive around the Inveragh Peninsula, perhaps better known as the Ring of Kerry. Our route takes us through Killorglin then past many quaint villages such as Glenbeigh and the salmon-fishing village of Waterville, beautifully sited between lovely Lough
Currane and Ballinskelligs Bay. Then we continue to Sneem,in a stunning location on the estuary of the Sneem River, and enjoy fine views of the surrounding mountains, dominated by Coomcallee. We return to Killarney in time to perhaps take a jaunting car ride or to visit famous Muckross House. After dinner in the hotel the evening is at leisure. Killarney offers a wealth of evening entertainment – ask your Driver/Escort for all the options. (Dinner, B&B)
SUNDAY 30TH MAY
Today we enjoy another fabulous scenic drive, this time around the Dingle Peninsula. The drive around Slea Head looking out over the Atlantic Ocean is awe-inspiring with views across to the Blasket Islands and Skellig Islands – an unforgettable experience! We stop for lunch en route, perhaps at the BlasketCentre in Dun Chaoin where you can trace the life story of the famous writer Peig Sayers. We return to the hotel for evening dinner and there’s entertainment both in the hotel and at nearby venues. (Dinner, B&B)
MONDAY 31ST MAY
After a hearty breakfast we leave this wonderful scenic area, known as the Irish ‘Mecca’ for tourists, and journey home to our original pick up points. |
