St Anton, Lake Constance, Bavaria & Austria
Due to the huge popularity and value for money of this tour, we have four departures for the 2010 season – two in July, one in August and one in September. The tour is based in the famous spa and ski resort of St Anton, located in the scenic Arlberg region of western Austria. It’s an ideal base for exploring this beautiful area close to the borders of Germany, Switzerland and Italy. The tour includes day trips to Innsbruck and its Olympic ski jump, Switzerland, Bregenz and Lindau Island. We also visit King Ludwig’s Linderhof Palace in Bavaria and much much more. A local guide will accompany all day trips to show you the area, and we include a special Tyrolean Music Evening in the village of St Anton for your enjoyment.

At the crossroads of many ancient civilisations, Sicily has a rich history that we will explore as we travel through this largely unspoilt island, as well as enjoying the stunning scenery. There’s even time for wine tasting! The tour then continues north with a two-night stay in the ‘Eternal City’, Rome, and a visit to Florence, before heading home via Switzerland and Belgium.

Annecy & The ‘Retour Des Alpages’
The charming town of Annecy, high in the French Alps, with its canals and sparkling turquoise lake, has always delighted visitors. Surrounded by stunning snow-capped peaks, it is known as the ‘Venice of the Alps’. The highlight of our tour is the ‘Retour des Alpages’ – an annual festival in Annecy town when the cows and other animals are brought down from the high alpine pastures for the winter. Decorated with floral garlands, cowbells tinkling, they parade through the quaint streets to the horns and folk music.
