Tuesday 27 June 2023
After breakfast in the hotel, we will travel to Edinburgh where you will visit Edinburgh Castle for a tour. We will then travel along the famous Royal Mile to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen’s official residence in Scotland. Here visitors can explore 14 magnificent historic and State Apartments, the romantic ruins of the 12th-century Holyrood Abbey and remarkable royal gardens, all with a complimentary multimedia tour. Best known as the home of Mary, Queen of Scots, the Palace was the setting for many dramatic episodes in her short reign. The State Apartments were used regularly by The Queen for State ceremonies and official entertaining. A few miles away, the port of Leith is home to The Royal Yacht Britannia. An audio tour leads you through the five decks, giving a fascinating insight into the lives of the Royal Family.
We will depart Edinburgh and return to the hotel for dinner in the evening.

Wednesday 28 June 2023
This morning, after breakfast we will travel to Stirling Castle. Here you will take a private guided tour of the refurbished rooms of the Palace that reveal how it might have looked when it was the childhood home of Mary Queen of Scots, and we’re transported into the rich world of Scotland’s royalty in the 1500s. From here we will continue on to Scone Palace, near Perth, which is the seat of parliaments and the crowning place of the Kings of Scots. In 1803, the 3rd Earl of Mansfield began rebuilding the medieval house as a gothic palace. It was here, in 1842, that the 4th Earl and his family entertained Queen Victoria on her way to the Highlands. Since then, Scone has been visited by the late Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, who was a childhood friend of the late Earl of Mansfield; her daughter, the late Queen Elizabeth II; and the Emperor of Japan. The Mansfield family continue to live here today, preserving the Palace of Scone and its surrounding estate as a unique living testament to Scotland’s heritage.
Return to the hotel for dinner in the evening.

Thursday 29 June 2023
Today we travel to Royal Deeside and Balmoral Castle, the Scottish holiday home of the Royal Family. Depending on the time of year there’s an opportunity to visit the gardens, gift shop and exhibitions. We make a short stop at Crathie Kirk, the local church used by the Royal Family. In the afternoon we visit Glamis Castle, a castle of turrets and towers, and the childhood home of the late Queen and the Queen Mother.
Return to the hotel for dinner in the evening.

Friday 30 June 2023
