Itinerary:

Tuesday 21 May 2019
We will pick you up from our designated pick up point and drive up the M1 motorway towards Belfast. There will be a comfort stop en route before arrival in Hillsborough, Co Down where you will have a 45 minute walking tour of Hillsborough Castle. This beautiful late Georgian mansion is a working royal palace functioning as the official residence of the Royal Family when they are in Northern Ireland, and it has been the home of the Secretary of State since the 1970s. After a little free time for lunch in Hillsborough, we will continue the short distance into Belfast City Centre where a guide will board the coach and take you on a tour showing you all that the City has to offer from the bustling University to the notorious political murals of East & West Belfast which depict in their own unique way the turbulent events of the so called 'Troubles'. At the end of the tour you will be taken to your City Centre hotel and check in for the first of our 3 nights. After dinner in the hotel your evening will be at your leisure. (D, B&B)

Wednesday 22 May 2019
Today our tour takes us on a leisurely drive along the spectacular Antrim Coast road, through some of the beautiful Glens of Antrim, passing through Glenarm, Cushendall, Ballycastle and on to Bushmills where we will visit the famous Distillery (12.00 booking). Here you can watch whiskey making take place and enjoy a taster as the secrets of 400 years of distilling at the home of Irish whiskey are unlocked. After a tour of the distillery you will make your way a short distance along the coast to Northern Ireland’s most spectacular natural attraction often described as the eighth wonder of the world. After the Causeway we will take the more direct route back to Belfast via motorway to arrive back at the hotel in the late afternoon. This evening will be at your leisure with an opportunity to take a walk through the City and have dinner in one of the many restaurants on offer. (B&B)

Thursday 23 May 2019
After breakfast this morning we will make our way to the new Titanic Quarter with a visit to the Titanic Museum at 10.00hrs. The Centre is a state of the art attraction with some incredible effects so you can experience the Titanic leaving Belfast; see it being built and much more. In the afternoon we will proceed to Crumlin Road Gaol where you will be able to take a tour of the prison and hear the varied history of the Gaol that dates back to 1845. For anyone who does not wish to visit either the Titanic Museum or Crumlin Road Gaol they are welcome to take this opportunity to stay in the City Centre for a bit of retail therapy if preferred. (B&B)

Friday 24 May 2019
After breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and drive to the Ards Peninsula to visit the fabulous Mount Stewart House and Gardens for a tour at 10.30hrs. The famous gardens were planted in the 1920s by Edith, Lady Londonderry and are of international importance. After our visit, we will board the coach and make our way along the Ards Peninsula to board the small ferry across Strangford Lough onto Downpatrick. After visiting St. Patrick’s grave at the Church of Ireland Cathedral, there will be some free time before we make our way south and back to your original pick-up points.
