SUGGESTED ITINERARY
DAY 1 - 30 MAY
Early morning arrival at Cape Town International Airport, followed by a half day city sightseeing tour of Cape Town. After lunch check into the Cape Suites Hotel (or similar) for 5 nights. Afternoon and evening at leisure.
DAY 2 - 31 MAY
Morning tour of the Green Point World Cup Soccer Stadium followed by lunch at Cape Town’s Waterfront. Situated between Robben Island and Table Mountain in the heart of Cape Town’s working harbour, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront has become South Africa’s most visited destination. Match 1 of the tour is against Bishops School this afternoon. Evening at leisure.
DAY 3 - 01 JUNE
Full day Peninsula Tour including a boat ride from Hout Bay, a visit to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, Boulders Penguin Colony where about 3,000 penguins reside and can be seen from boardwalks along the beach, and of course Cape Town’s landmark, Table Mountain.
DAY 4 - 02 JUNE
Morning visit to Ratanga Junction Theme Park with thrilling rides such as The Cobra and Monkey Falls. After lunch, depart for Canal Walk Shopping Centre with over 400 speciality stores.
DAY 5 - 03 JUNE
Match 2 vs. Rondebosch this morning. The afternoon is at leisure.
DAY 6 - 04 JUNE
Check out of the hotel for a full day tour of the Wine Lands. Check into the Stellenbosch Hotel (or similar) for 3 nights.
DAY 7 - 05 JUNE
Morning at leisure to explore Stellenbosch. Famed for its wines, Stellenbosch is also an important cultural centre with many museums and galleries to discover. This afternoon, Match 3 vs. Paul Roos Gymnasium. Renamed after Paul Roos, the first Springbok Rugby Union Captain, this school excels in sports and has produced many Springbok players.
DAY 8 - 06 JUNE
Depart for Oudtshoorn via Route 62. Stop for a light lunch en route at Ronnies Restaurant then check in to the Kleinplaas Resort for 2 nights. Afternoon visit to Cango Ostrich Farm. This evening, dinner will be a ‘Braai’ (barbecue).
DAY 9 - 07 JUNE
Visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch to see cheetahs, Bengal tigers, lions, crocodiles and many other species. After lunch, continue to the Cango Caves and take the Adventure Tour, a 90 minute tour deep into the caves led by an experienced and accredited cave guide. Return to the resort for dinner.
DAY 10 - 08 JUNE
Depart for Knysna via the Outeniqua Pass. Check in to the Lagoona Inn for 1 night. Afternoon boat trip across the lagoon to the Feather Bed Nature Reserve. Evening at leisure.
DAY 11 - 09 JUNE
Visit Knysna Elephant Park for a rare and exciting opportunity to get close to these gentle giants. Then drive to Mossel Bay via the Lake District, with a stop at Dolphin Point. Check in to the Park House Lodge for 1 night and enjoy an afternoon at leisure to go to the Museum, Post Office Tree, Langeberg Mall, The Point and the beach.
DAY 12 - 10 JUNE
After breakfast depart for Cape Town. En route, perhaps stop for a thrilling bungeejump at the Gouritz River (extra cost). Overnight Cape Town.
DAY 13 - 11 JUNE
Day at leisure then attend a World Cup Soccer Match. This will be a Pool game, subject to ticket availability. Late evening, catch the flight home.
