SUGGESTED ITINERARY
DAY 1
Pick up from school and transfer to Dublin for the ferry to Holyhead, then cross the Pennines to Hull for the overnight ferry to Zeebrugge with dinner and breakfast on board.
DAY 2
After disembarking, drive across Belgium to Germany and, after a stop in Cologne to see its magnifi cent Cathedral, continue through the Rhineland to an overnight stay in the Karlsruhe area.
DAY 3
The journey continues past the cities of Stuttgart, famed for its automotive industry, and Ulm, home of Albert Einstein and Ulm Minster - the tallest church in the world, then across the border into Austria and along the Upper Inn Valley to Pfunds.
DAY 4
Morning at leisure to explore the village, then take an afternoon excursion to the City of Innsbruck, Capital of the Tyrol. See the Olympic Ski Jump and the Golden Roof and enjoy a stroll through the quaint streets in the centre. Perhaps drive out to Wattens for a visit and tour of the famous Swarovski Crystal World before returning to Pfunds.
DAY 5
Drive to the magnifi cent mountains of the Kaunertal to see the Weissee Glacier at over 2750m. Thrill at the spectacular alpine scenery then descend back to Pfunds and spend an afternoon cycling or hiking - there are many nearby trails to choose from.
DAY 6
Choose either a trip through the Swiss resorts of Davos and Klosters to the Principality of Liechtenstein and its Capital, Vaduz, or an excursion into Germany to see King Ludwig’s Fairytale Bavarian Castles - Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau or Linderhof.
DAY 7
Spend the fi nal day in Austria enjoying the great outdoors and the many activities available in and around the village. Alternatively, take another excursion - perhaps to the Italian Dolomites or maybe to Switzerland’s world-renowned resort of St Moritz followed by a ride on the Bernina Express Train.
DAY 8
Leave Pfunds this morning and travel back into Germany for an overnight stop.
DAY 9
Continue through the Rhineland and Belgium to Zeebrugge for the overnight ferry to Hull with cabins and meals on board.
DAY 10
Arrive Hull and travel to Holyhead for the return to Ireland and transfer to school.
