AGRICULTURAL TOURS

For the young farmers of the future we are delighted to introduce some highlights from our Agricultural Tours programme.

Kavanagh Travel is a specialist in agricultural tours and has connections with agricultural colleges, farms and machinery manufacturers in the UK and Europe. We can combine trips to agricultural colleges with appropriate accommodation, farm visits and/or sightseeing to give potential farmers a real insight into modern farming courses and techniques.

Our own Damian McKenna has over 30 years experience in agriculture. Damian’s expertise in livestock, machinery and new up-to-date innovations ensures the success of our specialised farming tours, and enables us to fulfi l your specific requests for visits to breeding farms, arable farms and even short rotation coppice farms - essential to the production of bio-fuel to help save our planet.

We can arrange visits to the following UK colleges:

• Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester
• Reaseheath College, Cheshire
• Harper Adams University College, Shropshire
• Otley College, Suffolk
• Writtle College, Essex

For farming visits we have a long association with Nigel Batten’s Astridge Dairy Farm in Tenby, South Wales, with its high-yielding herd of 600 Holsteins, as well as farms throughout Britain & Europe with Ayrshire, Shorthorn and Jersey herds. We have also visited beef farms with Belgian Blue, Charolais and Aberdeen Angus cattle to name but a few.

Our programme includes tours to Agricultural Shows such as the Royal Highland and Royal Welsh Shows, and in November 2011 we have a tour to the Agritechnica Show in Hannover, Germany, for the machinery-minded agricultural engineers of the future.
